Trump to McConnell: "Go Nuclear" for court nominee

President Trump told Senator Mitch McConnell  to "go nuclear" to get his supreme court nominee into the supreme court. President Trump and other republicans are worried that the 48 Democrats in Congress will filibusterer the vote to pass the nominee. The republicans need 60 votes to pass their nominee. President Trump has told the senator McConnell (senate majority leader) to basically do anything you need to do so he can get his nominee in the supreme court.
Do you think the democrats in congress are going to filibuster the vote to pass the nominee?
What is McConnell going to do to pass the Nominee?

  1. I think we will do whatever he has to do to be put on the supreme court.

  2. I feel that they will try to filibuster because they don't approve of the supreme court nominee. The nominee is very young and much like Scalia in his conservative views.

  3. McConnell can't really do much if the democrats try to filibuster the vote. The nominee probably will get through because Trump has four years ahead of him in presidency. The democrats will see how futile the filibuster is, and the nominee will go through

  4. I think that there is not much that McConnell can do if they filibuster but, the democrats are the minority and they really wont be able to do much at all.

  5. I agree with Hayden, that there is not much that McConnell can do with the filibuster, and the democrats are the minorities in this situation so there is not much that they are going to be able to do.

  6. I think the Democrats are definitely going to filibuster, and McConnell can't do anything about it. The only thing I see him being able to do is securing every republican vote and hope so sway some democrats.

  7. I think that a filibuster won't make much change other than stalling.

  8. So basically we need the kids from UC Berkeley to do the coast to coast march and protest this silliness. The Dems need some air support to fight them off per se. But in the end I give a successful filibuster a 1/43 chance of working out.

  9. I think that because the republicans stalled Obama's supreme court nominee, the democrats will try to do the same for Trump's nominee.

  10. There isn't that much to do this far. The demócrata are a minority's which means they don't have much authority to do anything.

  11. I believe this will open up a can of worms that will focus more on inhibiting representatives from the opposite party instead of actually focusing on what needs to be done. Placing power over effectiveness is an inherent risk of a two party system.

  12. If they get the filibuster, there is not much McConnell can do.

  13. At this point, there is not much that can be done. A filibuster also won't do much to change and it will just stall.

  15. I don't know that the filibuster will be able to stop the nomination, but I am sure democrats will try to put up a decent fight for it.

  16. In all honesty there is not much to do at this point. The filibuster will mainly just stall.

  17. I agree that the filibuster will only stall the nomination but we can't go 4 years with just an open seat on the bench

  18. I agree that the filibuster won't do much, however, the Democrats are outnumbered by Republicans so their hands are pretty much tied too.

  19. I do agree with comments, the filibuster will only stall and we will need an answer sooner rather than later.

  21. I believe the democrats will do anything to get the law not to pass. Mconnell can easily create a filibuster in senate by just getting the democrats on his side.

  22. I do agree with what other are saying, filibuster will only stall; trump will have the next 4 years to get this passed.

  23. Well I think the filibuster is going to stall for sure. What Mconnell is going to do is change the democrats mind to pass this nominee

  24. I think their nominee will pass. McConnell will probably do whatever it takes to convince the democrats that their nominee should pass.
