Trump sends top aides to Mexico amid deep strains with US

President Donald Trump sent out his top diplomat and homeland security Chief to Mexico on Wednesday regarding the fence he wants to build on the southern boarder. Communication between both countries have stopped since Trump took office because he insists that Mexico pay for the wall and has other demands. Mexico was still reeling from the Trump administration's announcement a day earlier of a deportation crackdown that envisions sending people to Mexico who cross the border illegally... even if they're not Mexican citizens. Mexico doesn't understand why Trump is having massive deportations that are unnecessary. On Tuesday, the U.S. changed immigration enforcement policies that could effect millions of people living in the U.S. illegally, including many Mexicans to deportation. President Barack Obama focused on deporting immigrants convicted of serious crimes, new memos signed by Kelly show that  deportation for anyone convicted of a crime or charged with any offense which also includes crossing the border illegally. Trump was barley in office for like 2 weeks when he cancelled his meeting with Mexico's president Pena Nieto. Mexico is still unwilling to pay for the wall and another meeting has not been rescheduled.Anti-Trump protests have erupted. Earlier this month, some 20,000 people marched through Mexico's capital demanding respect from the U.S.

1. Do you think Mexico's president will accept to pay for the wall ?
2. With everything going on, do you think trump will be able to successfully be able to continue his massive deportation ?
3. Do all of these immigration law changes seem like the right thing.

  1. I believe that Mexico will pay for a portion of the wall, but having Mexico pay for the entire wall is a bit far fetched. I do believe that Trump will try and continue with his massive deportation plan, but it will not go as fast as he believes.

  2. I do not think that Pena Nieto will pay for the wall. I think that Trump will do whatever it takes to deport as many illegal immigrants as possible. These immigration laws do not seem like the right thing because there are many families that are being separated and many immigrants that are in the U.S. will leave so we will eventually lose up to 6.2 billion or million dollars.

  3. I do not believe that Pena Nieto will end up paying for the wall. I am not sure if trump will be successful in his attempt of a massive deportation, but I do believe he will continue to try.

  4. I agree that Mexico most likely will not end up paying for the wall. This situation is blowing up in the media constantly - Whether or not his plans work, Trump is a man that will continuously try to get what he wants.

  5. No I do not believe that the Mexican president will accept paying for the wall because why would he want to pay for something that will not even be beneficial for his country. If he gets the money for it then yes I do believe he will continue with his mass deportation. Its never going to be right.

  6. Mexico will not want to pay for the wall because of all the horrible things Trump has said about them.

  7. There´s no way Mexico will be willing to pay for Trump´s wall. All foreign countries should stay from the U.S. for these four years.

  9. there is a really small chance that Mexico will pay for the wall but Trump might figure something out for it. I also believe that Trump will most likely complete the mass deportation. It may not seem like the right thing but people are coming illegally so He wants to get them out in order for them to come back legally.

  11. I don't think Mexico's president will accept to pay for the wall. I think that Trump will continue to try his massive deportation and continue to speak about it and act like a child until he get what he wants. These immigration laws do not seem like the right thing to do.

  12. Immigration laws have goods and bads to them. I don't think Trump can come up with this big wall idea and expect for Mexico to pay and agree to it. If he wants it, then he should find a way to fund it himself.

  13. Mexico will never pay for the wall and nor does the average, able thinking Americans. But of course, there will also be outliers who would love to do just that. Trump's rationale just isn't there

  14. I don't think Mexico will pay for the wall. I think Trump's deportation plans will affect a lot of people ,and people will protest against Trump's massive deportation plans if it is carried through.

  15. Unfortunately I'm not sure there's any way to stop these deportations. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but it just seems like no matter what the public and other foreign leaders care about, the Trump administration is going to continue pushing forward this ridiculous plan. I don't think Mexico will directly pay for the wall, but I'm sure Trump can find a way to make it possible- through taxation or whatever. It's depressing, but it pretty much seems like he has all the power right now.

  17. I think that there is no way that Mexico will agree to paying for the wall. With the amount of effort that Trump is currently putting in to make this mass deportation happen it could possibly happen. All these immigration laws do not seem like the right thing to do especially at the rate it is changing.

  18. No Mexico will never pay for the wall. I do think he will deport a lot of people but not as much as he would hope. The law changes are not fair.

  19. I don't believe that Mexico will ever pay for the way. It would not benefit them in any way and I truly don't understand how Trump thinks he can make them pay for it.

  20. I dont believe that Mexico will ever pay for the wall. Pena Nieto has already stated that he won't pay for it. This wall is expensive and it won't be that effective. There already is a portion of a wall built and it doesnt work that well in keeping immigrants out. If people are dependent on immigrating, they are going to cross the boarder. I also think that his deportation plan is ridiculous because there are people who have been here for many years and have families and lives that they have built. To deport them would only cause more problems for the people of America.

  21. There is no real reason as to why mexico would pay for the wall, and anybody who is aware of the political and financial situations around the world should be able to realize that there is no reason why a country would pay for a wall to keep their own people out of another country. Trump's idea of a wall is doing nothing but causing more problems

  22. I do not believe the Mexican president will agree to pay for the fence Trump is trying to build at the southern border. They have no reason to want the wall there so they don't need to pay for any of it.

  23. I agree with Hannah that Mexico isn't going to pay for the wall because they weren't the ones who proposed the idea or want the wall. Trump wants the wall so he should have to pay for it

  24. Mexico isn't going to pay for the wall. He will not complete this mass deportation. They're only going to make it harder for himself.

  25. I like the fact that people are still on this case when its been happening for so long now. Mexicos president has already stated that he will not have his country pay for something that he wants built. Even the past president has said so through twitter.

  26. Mexicos president himself said that they will not pay for the wall as they are not benefiting from doing so, so no I do not believe that they are going to pay for the wall and all these new immigration laws I think are ridiculous honestly they are not needed

  27. No I dont believe that Mexico's president will be willing to pay for the wall. He isn't the one insisting with the wall, its Trump. Its trump idea to build the wall so that's all on him
