President Donald Trump has notified his advisers that he plans to cut corporate tax rates to 15% from a rather large 35%. Cutting the corporate taxes are part of his campaign promises that he seeks to achieve yet he has just started to take action now. The White House plans to pursue the tax plan as of Wednesday and this would be a major step towards execution of Trump's plans. However, this plan of cutting corporate taxes to 15% is very extreme and will have a difficult time passing through congress. The tax cut is also lower than what House Republicans proposed in its tax cut blueprint and may be too drastic of a change.

i think that this is not a wise move, regardless of the affect should the motion pass. it is not a wise move because such a drastic change will not likely pass at all, making this action pointless

ReplyDeleteIt seems like a decent idea on paper, but I feel like it won't move forward. I'm also curious to why he wants to cut corporate tax rates by a large sum.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of Trump's image, it's a definite: this is who he set out to be during his campaign, a man of cutting taxes and bringing more wealth to stay with businesses and consumers. Passing this would only help his image with those business savvy owners. Likewise, this would in turn create bigger business profits, increase hiring and expansion of business and let new businesses rise to power as a result of lower tax payments and faster growth.
ReplyDeleteI believe this is not a smart decision on Trump's part and it should not go through because it will only make our economic situation worse. It makes him look different but in a bad way. He has not done a lot of things that he said he would do during his presidency and it makes him look even more worse than he already is.
ReplyDeleteTrump's original image is protected because of the way he is trying to funnel money into businesses; cutting these taxes would allow businesses to pay less and maintain Trump's reputation with those businesses that would be in his favor.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tomislav that Trump is staying true to his campaign promises in that he set out to cut taxes and bring more wealth to businesses and consumers. By following through with this policy, Trump's support will raise in large corporations.
ReplyDeleteI do support this decision from Trump because I think it can greatly help our already stable economy. If this tax cut passes then it will help businesses with their overall budget, freeing up money in which they can help create more jobs.
ReplyDeleteI believe that this decision shows that Trump is serious about what he said he will do. The tax cuts can better our economy so that is a good choice. Being that he has a republican congress I think he will be able to carry out many more things that he promised in his campaign.

I think that it makes Trump look like a business man more than it makes him look like a President which is what was expected. I think that he will carrying out his proposals because so far that is all he has done, whether or not we like it.

This tax cut makes Trump look once again, more like a business man rather than a politician or president in this case. I believe that Trump will be wanting to carry out more proposals which he proposed at the campaign, its only a matter of whether he will be allowed to do that.
ReplyDeleteI feel that with this decision it shows how serious Trump is able to become. The tax cut can help grow the economy which would not be bad. With congress being primarily republican I feel Trump will have little resistance continuing with his plans.
ReplyDeleteI think that for the bigger companies this tax plan wouldn't really effect them, but who knows at this point they are making millions of dollars every year. The real problem is for the weaker companies because this will impact them heavily.
ReplyDeleteI think that the tax cut will be good for companies and it may help companies stop outsourcing. I think it has a good intention but we will see if large corporations just take the tax cut to gain selfish benefits
