With all the plans to impose a new border tax on all imports, there is a high likelihood that the power of the dollar will increase. But though this may seem like a good thing for our country economically, it does have some negative side effects. It will hurt new markets that are emerging everyday that our economy relies on to grow. Through this process, the price of oil will also continue to rise which will be bad after the spike in oil prices we’ve experienced over these past couple years. Now especially, more countries continue to have a higher demand for oil with the demand for oil being 97 barrels a day according to the International Energy Agency. The growing demand will only become a bigger problem if Washington decides to go through with some of its congressional tax proposals.

I think that clean energy is the way to go. We need to invest more time and money in the research and usage of clean energy, such as wind, and solar power. If we do convert most of our energy to clean energy, not only will we help the environment but we will also lower the demand for oil.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that taxing most imports is a good idea however, the ones that are more needed should be less. I believe that Trump's presidency will effect the economy in a better way for the middle to upper class, because he was a business man before becoming the president. I do believe that alternate fuel sources should be explored because the increase in oil will soon be too much for the people.
ReplyDeleteI don't think taxing all imports is a good idea, because a necessity for US might be a necessity for another country and if that country is willing to dod no taxes for it then the producer will give it to them. I think trump will be positive to our economy. Yes, i think clean energy is definitely the right answer, also with cars electricity is a good factor.

ReplyDeleteI also think that taxing some imports is a good thing, but not imports should have a tax imposed. The demand for oil is growing, and there is only a limited amount. In order to prevent further conflicts over this resource, I believe that the US should begin placing a stronger emphasis on clean energy. These alternative energies are solar, wind, hydropower, and geothermal sources. I think that there will be a reduced likelihood of this happening during Trumpś presidency. He will focus on benefiting the middle and upper class and larger corporations, but he also supports the use of non-renewable resources.

ReplyDeleteI think that taxing imports will eventually turn the exporters away from sending things to the US. I believe that Trump has a great chance to make our economy boom again, being that he is an entrepreneur. However the likelihood of that happening is slim due to the lack of support from our citizens.
ReplyDeleteI don't think taxing on all imports is a good idea because it will put a stop to other countries from sending goods and services into the United States. By the looks of it I believe that our economy may go up with Trump being the president. This is because Trump is a businessman and he probably has the proper knowledge of how economy works and how to make our economy better than it is today. Its to soon to judge yet whether Trump will make the economy better but judging from right now it looks like our economy will be fine.
ReplyDeleteI think that taxing imports are good because it would make it harder for other countries to sell their products in the US. This would force the US to make the products, which would decrease the unemployment rate in the US. I am unsure how Trump's presidency would affect this economy because of how unpredictable he is, but am hoping for the best. I think we should focus on other fuels to help us become more independent and it would help with the pollution.
ReplyDeleteAs we all know the U.S has many products from other countries and taxing imports would cause for U.S to produce their own products. Also Taxing Imports will increase employments for those who are in need because the U.S will look forced to make their own things. Trump will affect the economy, but I wouldn't be sur in what way because he is unpredictable.
