Ever since Trumps victory in the presidential election there has been troubles for many of those along the U.S.-Mexico border. Many of the store owners along the border have been having trouble getting customers who aren't coming to buy things from their stores to boycott Trump. One store owner even talked to some of their customers to see what was happening got the impression that his customers are thinking"Let's spend our money here. Let's not send dollars to United States." It isn't just store owners that aren't being affected but american workers who work for companies that would move outside of the U.S. to sell to more places easier things they wouldn't be able to do with some of the actions the Trump administration has talked about.
1.What could be ways to urge companies that might leave to stay.
2.Do you think that there are things that the government could due to help fix these troubles
3.What ways do you think the government will respond to this sittuation

With some of Trump's new administrative actions, it'd be hard to convince companies to stay in the US, especially if they're losing business. The government can't really do much, especially because the people themselves are choosing to boycott their stores near the border.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the government can do very much without having to spend billions of dollars trying to relocate all the stores and business there. Even more so because people are boycotting against Trump near the border.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what has been said above: the federal government can't control how people choose to spend their money. Personally, I strongly disagree with all of Trump's socio-political opinions, so it makes sense to me why stores on the U.S.-Mexico would want to close their businesses in regard of customers' open protest, which I support as well. It's ironic that Trump, who said that he would "make America great again" economically, is doing just the opposite.

ReplyDeleteMany people agree with Trump's administration, so I think it would be very difficult to convince businesses to stay. The government cannot control peoples' economic choices, and the fact that people want to boycott Trump near the border makes sense. Trump's policies have been highly controversial, so it will be difficult to find agreement, so I do not think the government can do much.
ReplyDeleteIf you offer for them more opportunities, companies that want to leave might reconsider.
ReplyDeleteWait, hold up. Shouldn't the Trump administration be appealing to all sorts of businesses? awk...anyway, these businesses will leave until Trump appeals to them about cheap labor and limited regulations. Part of Trump's promise is keeping jobs in America and so far, this hasn't been the case.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's hard for the government to regulate people's spending, and people should be allowed to spend their money as they wish to support their beliefs
ReplyDeleteIf the people are the ones choosing to boycott and not buy from stores, then the government has little control in the situation. Companies will have to do what's best for themselves and that may mean moving stores and factories.
ReplyDeleteGovernment could offer more opportunities for companies to stay. Government can start to do boycotts. They could pay the stores until the build is finished.
ReplyDeleteGovernment should help them get more opportunity and while they do this, companies that want to leave might reconsider but most of all they can help until they get settled in
